La depuradora tiene una capacidad\u00a0 considerable de 1.090.000 habitantes equivalentes. El volumen anual de aguas residuales tratadas es de unos 40 millones de m\u00b3.<br \/>\nDesde 1986, en la depuradora de D\u00fcsseldorf Sur se utilizan cuatro centr\u00edfugadoras para el espesamiento de los lodos sobrantes. Debido a los elevados costes de mantenimiento y conservaci\u00f3n y al alto consumo de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica de los sistemas de centrifugado, se decidi\u00f3 sustituir la tecnolog\u00eda de los sistemas de centrifugado por espesadores de banda. Tras el \u00e9xito de las pruebas preliminares realizadas en 2013, las centrifugadoras se han sustituido de forma<br \/>\ncontinua por espesadores de banda TurboDrain TDC 2 de Bellmer.<br \/>\nEn 2020, se puso en funcionamiento con \u00e9xito la cuarta l\u00ednea con un TDC 2. De este modo, todo el espesamiento de los lodos sobrantes en la depuradora de D\u00fcsseldorf Sur se realiza ahora con espesadores de banda. Se cumplieron y confirmaron las expectativas de los operadores en cuanto a la reducci\u00f3n de los costes de servicio y mantenimiento, as\u00ed como del consumo de energ\u00eda.<br \/>\nEl TurboDrain de Bellmer se caracteriza especialmente por su dise\u00f1o s\u00f3lido y f\u00e1cil de usar, su alto grado de automatizaci\u00f3n y su bajo consumo de energ\u00eda. El personal de la depuradora de D\u00fcsseldorf Sur est\u00e1 entusiasmado y es consciente de que la sustituci\u00f3n completa de las unidades es la inversi\u00f3n correcta para el
