Today the company is one of the market leaders in Europe with its graphic papers made from 100 percent recycled paper.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Steinbeis Paper is well known for their transformation from a traditional paper producer to a highly-modernized, ecologically intergrated recycled paper mill. Part of that transformation included upgrading the wastewater treatment facilities on-site, and therefore, Steinbeis invested in a new sludge dewatering plant from Bellmer Kufferath.<br \/>\nThe sludge dewatering plant consists of three identical lines consisting of one disc thickener AKSE S175\/08 and one screw press AKUPRESS BX 1000 each. These lines dewater the deinking sludge from the AP treatment and sewage sludge. The objective was to achieve the highest possible dry content of the<br \/>\nsludge, as the sewage sludge is incinerated in the company\u2018s power plant and the deinking sludge is disposed of externally.<\/p>\n<p>The decision in favor of Bellmer Kufferath was made after successful pilot plant trials on-site and the resulting proof of performance of the screw press. The savings potential to be achieved with this system justified the investment.
