Successful production start of Mondi Štětí’s PM with Bellmer Technology
With the successful start-up of the new TurboLine paper machine at Mondi Štětí, Bellmer is setting new standards in effi ciency and paper quality.
The state-of-the-art machine has been successfully commissioned by Mondi and strengthens the company’s position as a leading provider of packaging and paper solutions. The goal is to meet the growing global demand for sustainable and flexible packaging.
The paper machine has an annual production capacity of around 210,000 tons of sack kraft paper. As the main supplier, we played a key role in this large-scale project. Bellmer was responsible for the complete delivery and integration of all main components of the paper machine as well as the associated automation technology.
The scope of supply included an energy-effi cient approach flow system, the innovative TurboJetter headbox for optimal fiber distribution, and the high-performance TurboPress, which ensures maximum dry content. The machine was further equipped with modern calendering technology, comprehensive air systems, automated winding technology, and a precision slitter rewinder.
In addition, Bellmer supplied the complete Distributed Control System (DCS) and Quality Control System (QCS), ensuring fully automated and effi cient production. The close and collaborative partnership between the Mondi Štětí project team and Bellmer’s specialists enabled smooth execution and on-time commissioning — just 24 months after contract signing.

Commissioning the machine on schedule within such an ambitious timeframe is a major achievement,” emphasized Lars Mallasch, Group Technical & Sustainability Director at Mondi. Roman Senecky, COO Kraft Paper at Mondi, was equally impressed: “The project team did an outstanding job. Installation was completed on time and within budget. The paper quality is exceptional — we were able to deliver a product that fully meets our customers’ expectations very quickly.”
Senior Project Manager Helmut Riesenberger also expressed his satisfaction: “Bellmer and Mondi can look back on a long and successful partnership.
