Great collaboration between Iggesund and Bellmer leads to higher efficiency!
Iggesund, Sweden – The Iggesund mill, part of the Holmen Group and a leader in the paperboard industry, has recently upgraded its KM1 machine with Bellmer‘s TurboCalender project. This upgrade improves production effi ciency and product quality while supporting Iggesund‘s focus on sustainability.The main goals were to replace the old calender, maintain or improve product quality, and simplify maintenance. The new TurboCalender features a functional TurboRoll MZ roll on top and a heated Tokuden roll on the bottom, reaching up to 270°C surface temperature.
This setup ensures precise control over paperboard thickness and surface quality. Additionally, new moisturizers were added to support calendaring process and improve curl control.
The results are impressive: all the guarantees have been fulfilled with good results. Iggesund’s management is very pleased with the results.
Evelina O’Nils, Manager of Board Production, praised the project and the Bellmer team’s support. Process Development Manager Oskar Skärgård also expressed his satisfaction, noting that the machine can operate at a higher production capacity. The successful TurboCalender project highlights the strong collaboration between Iggesund and Bellmer.
