Lively exchange at the Nordic Paper Days in Finland

The Bellmer Paper Days have meanwhile developed into a permanent institution for the exchange among paper experts worldwide. The venue this time was Finland, organised by our Bellmer Vaahto team under the leadership of Jyrki Strengell.  In Vierunmäki near Heinola, 150 participants from the paper industry met for a 2-day informative lecture programme and an interesting exchange with colleagues from the industry. The lecture programme was designed by top-class speakers who reported directly from practice. Katja Metsäranta, Mill Director of the Stora Enso Heinola paper mill and Tuomo Sippus, Process Development Manager, reported on the joint rebuild project with Bellmer Vaahto. Staniša Lukić, Technical manager and Saša Dobrić, Production manager of UMKA Cardboard Mill Serbia presented their personal experiences on the subject of calenders. Stephen Masterson, Head of Investment Management at UPM, also informed the audience about the advantages of modern calender technology.

Excursions to Kotkamills papermill rounded off the lecture programme, with Markku Hämäläinen, CEO of Kotkamills Oy, giving a positive summary of the joint rebuild project three years ago. Many participants also took the opportunity to take part in golf training, swimming or Nordic walking. A good mood, tasty food and a cosy get-together crowned the two days of the event. We are already looking forward to your participation in the upcoming Paper Days 2020, which will take place at the Bellmer headquarter in Niefern, Germany from 23rd to 24th September.
