Bellmer is family – and family is trust, cohesion & support.
The Bellmer family currently consists of over 760 people worldwide. Some of them have already been with us for generations. As a family-run company, this makes us particularly proud. We place special importance and appreciation on our employees. As a result, 70 percent of our employees at our headquarter have been with us for more than five years. Even our fluctuation rate is below 10 percent. We greatly appreciate their many years of loyalty and celebrate anniversaries duly. Because we care.
Having a good work-life-balance is important to sustain a healthy work environment. We want our employees to feel comfortable and taken seriously. Thus, we allow flexible working time models and mobile working. We care about the needs of our employees. Therefore, we fully understand maternity and parental leave, and are willing to enable employees to return to work on a part-time basis, for example. Our most important issue is the wellbeing of our employees.
We focus on family. On our company anniversaries, we organize large Bellmer Family Days, where we welcome all our employees and their loved ones to our company. Here we enable everyone to get to know their family member´s workplace, as well as the entire company up close. During children programs, guided plant tours and exquisite food, this day offers the opportunity to get to know your colleagues better in private and strengthen the Bellmer family bond.
As an attractive training company, we are pleased to continuously employ about 30 apprentices. We are happy to see our Bellmer family grow each year and take on around 90 percent of them into permanent positions. Our successful training has been rewarded with the title as one of “Germany´s best training companies” by the magazine Focus Money. We offer our apprentices a future. We are proud to say, that several members of our management team started their training at Bellmer and have since become an essential part of the family.
Tolerance & acceptance
Bellmer represents tolerance and acceptance. We promote diversity and have no space for discrimination. As an international group with offices in ten different countries, we support multicultural cooperation and promote diverse perspectives. We focus on respectful interaction with each other and are enriched by the intercultural exchange with each other on a daily basis.
Gender equality is also a matter of course for us. Women enrich and strengthen our organization. We already have an increasing number of women in the company, not only in administration but also in the design office, sales, service or project management. Female support is also assured in the seventh generation of the founding family. For the future, we hope to attract even more women to the interesting technical professions. We also attach great value to integration and are happy to welcome people with disabilities to our team.
According to a Deutschlandtest study by Focus Money magazine, we are one of “Germany’s best jobs with a future”. With this perspective, it is important to always stay up to date. That’s why we offer our employees ongoing training opportunities. We support them optimally with regular external training courses and management training.
At the Bellmer Academy, an internal training series, essential specialist knowledge is passed on among colleagues. International exchange is also important to us. Within the framework of the Sales Days, for example, sales training courses are held throughout the Bellmer Group. All sales employees travel to Niefern for two days and listen to interesting lectures. This does not only train sales skills and specialist knowledge, but also strengthens cohesion between the individual subsidiaries. Regular training sessions via video conference are used for entertaining exchanges between the individual locations.
Our trainees are also offered additional training opportunities, such as a full-day seminar on learning and work strategies with an external trainer.
The health of our employees is very important to us. We are committed to this in a variety of ways. In cooperation, we subsidize membership in the local gym for all employees in Niefern. Likewise, an exclusive fitness course is offered to Bellmer employees every week – free of charge and without any further obligations.
We also offer all our employees the opportunity to take advantage of our attractive bike leasing program. This offer has been very well received and is now used by almost 200 employees. On the one hand, we want to promote environmentally friendly mobility among our employees. On the other hand, exercise in the fresh air is healthy and fun!
Bellmer not only collects kilometers as a team in the annual city bike race, but also organizes joint bike tours through the beautiful region. Cycling enthusiasts regularly get together for excursions in the sunshine to end the day comfortably in a beer garden after some sporting activity. Bellmer also regularly takes part in the Pforzheim CityLauf. Here, the athletes cover distances of 4.4 or 10 km. At the annual BellmerCup in the Bellmer Arena of the local soccer club, employees of all ages compete against other company teams. And every winter, Bellmer organizes a ski weekend for all interested employees and their families and friends. Here, too, the focus is on fun in the fresh air and socializing. Sporting activity is also on the agenda at Bellmer Finland. In the annual orienteering race, the Bellmer team runs through various checkpoints using a map and compass to navigate themselves. This is one of the most popular sports in Finland. Likewise, our colleagues from Bellmer Cezch organized a great team building event. After a flashback of all the projects and good results, the main focus was on games, fun, good food and socializing. A soccer and boules tournament brought a lot of fun to players and spectators.
Healthy nutrition is also an important part of a healthy lifestyle. We support this by providing our employees with fresh fruit every week.
In addition, lunch is subsidized with selected regional suppliers, so that there is a daily changing choice between three different meals at a reduced price with top quality. If you are interested, you can also receive individual nutritional advice tailored to your personal needs.
As part of our “Health Day”, in cooperation with the Techniker Krankenkasse health insurance company, we give our employees the opportunity to have various health checks carried out and, if necessary, to have an individual fitness program drawn up. Other examinations can be requested from the company doctor at any time. Vaccinations, masks and tests are also offered to all. We also attach great importance to the mental health of our employees. For this reason, we offer individual coaching sessions with a trained MBSR coach in acute cases.
We attach great importance to the safety of our employees. General safety plus the provision of personal protective equipment takes place annually. In addition, training courses on workplace hazards, cranes, forklifts and fire protection are held once a year. For electricians and trainees, these even take place every six months. The handling of hazardous substances is also refreshed every 12 months by means of training. In the event of an emergency, a large number of trained first aiders are available from among our employees. The handling of the five defibrillators in Niefern was also presented to all interested employees and actively practiced.
