Bellmer invests in expanded production capacity in Willich

Expansion in Willich leads to more sustainability and higher efficiency

After intensive planning and construction work, the extension to the assembly hall and new social wing at Bellmer GapCon in Willich was completed and officially opened.
The capacity of the existing assembly halls at Bellmer GapCon had clearly reached its limits and the assembly of large machines, especially turbo winders, was becoming increasingly difficult due to the limited space. Renting two halls only provided a short term solution. The interim solution was neither efficient nor sus
tainable, so it was necessary to expand the production capacities on site.
The new hall now offers an additional assembly area of 700m² and is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment:
Underfloor heating, supplied by two heat pumps, ensures pleasant working conditions, even in the colder months. LED lighting guarantees optimum lighting conditions with low energy consumption, combined with a recently installed solar system. Foundation rails enable the precise installation of calenders and winders. A new 40-tonne crane supplements the existing 63-tonne crane, so that rolls weighing up to 80 tonnes can now be moved with ease.
The entire construction process was completed in an efficient time: Planning started in August 2022 and the new hall was completed around 2 years later.

The entire project was then successfully completed with the finalization of the new employee social wing. With the expansion of the production hall, Bellmer GapCon has taken an important step towards future-proofing and increasing efficiency.
The new capacities make it possible to process the growing number of orders faster and more effectively, while at the same time significantly improving the working conditions for the employees.

The additional assembly capacities will also help to further expand the service business.
