Efficient Pulp Processing with the Non-Pressurized CDS System

The CDS (Compact Dispersion System) is the only non-pressurized system in its class, offering a highly efficient and compact design for pulp processing. Thanks to this innovative principle, a conveyor can replace both the plug screw and the shredder, eliminating the need for pressure vessels and sealings for HC discharge.

This non-pressurized concept results in low steam consumption and enables the use of existing dewatering equipment, reducing both energy and maintenance costs. The retention time within the system is 20–30 seconds at temperatures of up to 95°C (203°F), ensuring optimal treatment conditions.

The CDS process includes three key treatment steps: dewatering, heating, and dispersing, all designed to improve pulp quality and system efficiency.

Screw press

The screw press thickens the pulp from 3% up to 35% consistency. As the pulp becomes thicker, it enters the heating zone with less water. Because of this, steam use drops, and the dispersing result improves. In the end, higher consistency means lower energy use and better pulp quality.

The Compact Dispersing System (CDS) is a non-pressurized system designed for efficient and space-saving pulp processing. Because of its open design, a conveyor can replace both the plug screw and the shredder, creating a more compact and energy-efficient solution for feeding the pre-heater.

The pulp is heated to an even temperature of up to 95°C, depending on raw material. Strength properties are weakened, and an improved dispersing result can be achieved.

Infeeder

The infeeder moves the pulp from the pre-heater to the disperser. Its patented design prevents blocking and reduces energy use. Moreover, it ensures a steady flow for reliable operation.

Disperser

Inside the disperser, fibers pass through a narrow gap between rotating discs. Here, impurities break down into very small particles. The discs have a special devil-tooth pattern that is adjusted for each pulp type to protect the fibers. Furthermore, the operator can adjust the disc gap online with an accuracy of 0.01 mm for precise control.
